Jamie Gallo - actor, director, mover, more
Leading with compassion, integrity, and drive, Jamie’s work elevates process over product, people over profit, and justice over entertainment. This vision transcends genre and artistic discipline, resulting in a body of work that is diverse and ever evolving. They bring a deep commitment to the body, community building, and self-reflection to their process. Whether it be choreographing a movement piece, acting in site-specific play, or directing a film, Jamie is proud to make art that elevates humanity in a deeply polarized and capitalist world.
Raised in Altadena, California by a therapist mom and a lawyer dad, Jamie wandered into the arts of their own accord and never left. After studying at various intensives at University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Boston University, Jamie took their training to University of Southern California where they graduated in 2024 as a Theatre Major (Acting Emphasis) and a Dance Minor. They’ve also trained at the British American Drama Academy in London, Arthaus Berlin, and with Gecko Theatre in London. When they aren’t creating, you’ll find Jamie training for a triathlon, camping, or on a bike ride.
Thematically, Jamie’s work is concerned with social justice, the effect of embodied knowledge and trauma in the body, queerness, motherhood, and ensemble storytelling.
